A dear friend of Real Oldies 1250 and the man behind the microphone at Fenway Park has died. Carl Beane was killed in a single car crash on Holland Road in Sturbridge, Mass. earlier Wednesday. He was 59 years old. Carl was on the air at W-A-R-E from 1976 - 1994.  He returned in recent years to fill in and do play-by-play sports for football and basketball.  Carl’s lifelong dream job was realized when he began as the public address announcer at Fenway in 2003.  Carl loved radio and he will be missed.

UPDATE: A public memorial service will be held at 7:00PM on Wednesday, May 16, at The Sturbridge Host and Conference Center on Rt. 20, in Sturbridge. Memorial tributes at http://?belangerfuneralhome.com/
